Our heart is our map so any plans we make through the intellect/mind are just distractions along the path?
You would never take the leap of faith to jump into a well by yourself. Only when you know subconciously that there will not likely be a bad affect is when you would even dare making a leap of faith, am I correct? This means that the ego is most definatly blinding the heart. However, this doesn't mean you should destroy your ego. This means you should rise above it by training the mind. When you have an untrained mind, every decision has an infinite number of choices. It is impossible to choose. But when you train your mind to live above ego, rather than against it, your ego will block off the paths that will do the most damage in your life naturally. Then finally only one path will remain. That is when you have a true calling. For the sake of clarity, I will also define an ego. Ego is not something that only make you feel high and mighty. Ego is the culmination of all the binding factors in your life. In other words, it IS your bias. It is how you take a decision. Lets say you have the choice of eating fast food every day or not doing so. Suppose in your life, you've seen and experienced what diabetes can do to a person. Your experience is you ego, and because of it, you choose not to eat fast food. Now suppose you a person you really like. Also suppose in the past, you have been hurt by previous relationships. Your experience is your ego, and it will tell you to stay away from that person. But, if you live above your ego, it will be clear in your mind that past relationships are in the past, and everyday is a new start. Then let your ego decide whether this new person is anything like your old relationships. If not, then only one path is left.
