Really heartbroken and cheated, why won't he speak to me?

i was with a guy for a year who had been my best friend for years. he took me everywhere, rang me all the time, we always had so much fun. he was always the first to text, right up to the end. and he just spent 300 pound on my birthday present a week ago. he once drove 5 hours all night to come see me when i was ill. well i love him so much and i found out he cheated when we first got together. he was really really drunk and said he cant even remember, but he took her back to his place. he only explained because i found out. he used to always cry if i talked of breaking up... but when i dumped him he never even got upset. he was more concerned to how i found out. i left him but 2 days after not eating or sleeping decided to text asking if i could call... just i wanted to know why he did it and stuff. well he hasnt replied. why isnt he fighting for me? on the phone he said he was glad i was leaving him because he deserved it.. in that case why did he not tell me? does he not love me anymore? would i be crazy to call
