If I freeze cottage cheese, can I expect it to have the same texture and flavor when thawed?

Sometimes I'd like to stock up cottage cheese when on sale, to plan meals, recipes, but I've heard milk/milk products aren't as smooth after being frozen... But regular cheese freezes/thaws just fine.
