Why do black women pride themselves on dating up when it comes to white men?

Well, just like black men who pride themselves on white women. Why would you expect the meaning of this pride to change when the genders are switched? Their partners are white, they may believe this to be their 'green' card. It's fairly common for minorities to believe that being with someone white will not only improve your status but that of your future children's. I'm not going to say it doesn't either. This may in fact be a universal thing, I believe. I don't understand how one could think that black women's reasons would take on a different meaning than black men's. It's the same thing.
