Study Abroad Motivational Letter.?

I have to write a letter to national geographic explaining why I would like to attend the summer 2009 expedition. Im stumped with writers block. I have no clue what to write, I feel the letter has to be perfect to insure my chance in attending. I want to go with them to Belize or Peru. I just need help explaining why they should pick me. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
